Chickering was one of America’s earliest and most influential piano makers, known for combining elegant craftsmanship with meaningful innovation. Founded in Boston in 1823, Chickering earned respect for its rich, warm tonal character and its role in developing the modern grand piano, including early advances in the cast-iron plate.
