Essex EUP-123
Designed by Steinway & Sons and built to their specifications, the Essex EUP-123 (Classic Studio) is a 48.5-inch upright that blends refined styling with accessible pricing. Developed in collaboration with furniture designer William Faber, it features elegantly proportioned straight legs and traditional cabinet work. An all-wood action and spruce keys follow Steinway design principles, while a cast-iron plate finished in Steinway gold, carbon-steel tuning pins and Roslau wire support a solid spruce soundboard for a warm, balanced tone This 2016 example has been inspected and serviced in our workshop and is ready for many years of reliable use. As part of the Essex line, it offers Steinway-inspired performance for homes, studios or practice rooms.

Essex is a line of pianos designed by Steinway & Sons and introduced in 2006, built in partnership with Pearl River in China. The goal was to offer Steinway design features at a more accessible price. Essex instruments have a clear, modern tone and a comfortable action, with scaling and geometry based on Steinway patterns. They’re built for reliable everyday use — a good step-up instrument for students and homes that want solid performance without the cost of a New York or Hamburg Steinway.
