Essex (Designed by Steinway)
Essex is a line of pianos designed by Steinway & Sons and introduced in 2006, built in partnership with Pearl River in China. The goal was to offer Steinway design features at a more accessible price. Essex instruments have a clear, modern tone and a comfortable action, with scaling and geometry based on Steinway patterns. They’re built for reliable everyday use — a good step-up instrument for students and homes that want solid performance without the cost of a New York or Hamburg Steinway.
