Kawai GM-1 Player
This approximately 1995 Kawai GM-1 is a compact 4'9" acoustic grand piano made in Japan, finished in polished black polyester, and fitted with a functioning aftermarket player system that can be controlled from an iPhone. Its small footprint makes it well suited to homes and music rooms where a full acoustic grand experience is wanted without the space required by a larger instrument. Kawai Musical Instruments was founded by Koichi Kawai in Hamamatsu, Japan, in 1927 and has earned a strong international reputation for consistent Japanese piano engineering and craftsmanship. This GM-1 has 88 keys, three pedals, a Kawai action, and the responsive touch and tonal character of an acoustic grand. Serial number 2209344 places production at approximately 1995 in Kawai's Japan-production serial-number guide. The acoustic piano has been inspected and found solid and tuning stable. The cabinet shows some normal wear around the rim and hinge area. The working player equipment is an aftermarket retrofit rather than a current factory-installed system.
